Coach Cody Knight
Hello Central Lions and Future Lions,
My name is Cody Knight, and I am a collaborative teacher and the head wrestling coach at Central High School. I split my childhood between Rockdale County in metro Atlanta and Oconee County near Athens, Georgia. I graduated from Oconee County High School in 2011. After high school, I wrestled at the University of Northern Colorado before transferring home and finishing school at the University of Georgia. After exploring a few different occupations, I found my home in education. I began teaching on the elementary level in Madison County.
Outside of school, my wife Christen and I enjoy traveling, TV shows, and UGA football. I love the interactions I have with my students. I can still remember my interactions with teachers and coaches, which helped me grow into the person I am, today. I respond best to positivity and a lighter mood, and that is what usually comes out through my teaching and time spent with others.
The team here at Central High School is second to none. I am blessed to be able to work with supportive people, and this type culture and environment is the reason I am a teacher and a coach. Students, you will be pushed to achieve, but you will never be alone. I'm looking forward to making this journey with you.
As always, Go Lions!
